Rocco Buttiglione (born 1948) is an Italian philosopher, politician, and academic teacher, former Minister of European Affairs, and long-time member of parliament. He personally knew John Paul II and frequently referred to the person and thought of Karol Wojtyła/John Paul II in his work.
